Every year Decorex pulls together creative inspiration for leading interior designers. This year Reiko Kaneko will be launching her glazed tile murals as part of Decorex 2018 at Syon Park in London. Reiko has been experimenting with reactive glazing on fine bone china since 2012 and this year, she goes large scale.
There will be dramatic brushwork wall murals each customised and made to order.
She will also be showing wave plates – heavily inspired by Japanese artistry – and other tableware and vessels for the interior.
London Design Festival celebrates and promotes London’s creative vibrancy and within the wider festival hubs such as Shoreditch Design Triangle bring together local creative spirit and energy. This September, Nobu Hotel London Shoreditch joins in bringing into the fold their understated but luxurious offering. And this year, Reiko Kaneko will be collaborating with them to open a popup exhibition and shop in Nobu Hotel London Shoreditch’s Luxury Lobby Lounge. It’s a perfect setting and match for a British-Japanese ceramicist based in England.
Japan has not only been an inspiration for the elegant simplicity to which she strives, but the key to her appreciation of craft and craftsmanship.
On display will be a range of ceramic Jewellery, Wave Dinnerware and a selection of her signature Studio Glaze wares. It’s a chance to see a range of glazes and rich colours on a pure white background of bone china.
